Your data

Your chats live on your device. Your message history, contact names, and attachments are never uploaded to Kondo's servers — not to us, not to anyone on our team, not to any subprocessor.

What Kondo's servers do store is the metadata the app creates: labels, reminders, snippets, and the ids needed to attach them to the right chats. None of it contains your messages or personal chat data.

A few practical consequences:

  • Search runs entirely on your device.
  • Attachments are fetched and cached locally when you view them.
  • If you turn on voice note transcription, audio is sent out for transcription only — it isn't stored or used for training.
  • Delete local data (in the command bar or account settings) unpairs and wipes everything Kondo keeps on your machine. It's irreversible — all your chats in Kondo are lost.
