Labels

Labels split your chats into streams of work — leads, customers, family — each with its own inbox in the sidebar.

Press L on a chat and pick a label, or type to create a new one. A chat can carry as many labels as you want, and it appears in each label's inbox.

New messages in a labeled chat show up in its label inbox and in Inbox. Focused shows only chats with no labels, so labeling is also how you keep the main view quiet.

Customizing label inboxes

Open the organize page to change a label's name, icon, color, and position, or hide inboxes you don't use.

Archiving inside a label

Labels work with the rest of the workflow: archive and set reminders in a label inbox exactly as you would in Inbox. Chats return to their label inbox when a new message arrives or a reminder is due. Switch the filter to Everything to see the label's archived chats too.
